Hogar de Cristo

We visited some underpriviledged children today. It is meaningful to be able to do something special for someone. We had a great time and lots of fun =)

Yesterday, we had some volunteers who came before CG to help us wrap the gifts. We have prepared many gifts, balloons sculpture and food for the event. I was pretty excited to do balloon sculpturing cos I have not made any since the cannival at the Narnia event in Singapore. Glad that it can be put into good use here.

And these are the beautiful and handsome volunteers =)

We started the event with some games. The volunteers did a fantastic job in leading the kids. The kids are rowdy as usual… its universal.

My Thursday

I have to get used to my new working hours. Now that my job starts at 8am every morning, i’ve got to wake up at 6.30am. Nevertheless, i enjoy teaching at the institute. Really thank God for this teaching opportunity. I got to know people from the different walks of life. Just today I got to know a doctor, a resturant manager, 2 sales promoters and a Uni student. I even did a mini counselling with one of them who had broken off with her bf.

After my lessons, I met up with domi, our new sister in Christ. We were supposed to get a bible together at the bible society. I forgot to look up for the direction of the place and in the end, we spent 1 hour just walking and finding the place. But it was amazing how we could connect with my “cannot make it” Spanish and i actually spoke to her in Spanish for 2 entire hours! And she is so sweet! She insisted in giving me a lunch treat. I felt pai seh lah cos I am working and she is a student but she said that she wanted to give me back something in return… *touched* Moreover she invited me to her place in the North next Feb cos I told her that I would be alone here as PS & David are going back in Feb.

After meeting her, i took a “woo loo” bus to a company for a private english lesson. I feel stress taking the bus cos there are no bus stops, the place is deserted and i kept missing the place. The previous time, I had to walk back to the company for 20 mins cos i alighted late. I am really terrible with directions. But thank God! I got it this time…hehee..

On my way back from the company, one man approached me and asked if i was a english teacher cos he saw me holding on to a English book. He told me that he is an english teacher, teaches at Nestle and has just started a company. He wanted to hire english native teachers cos he has teaching jobs in companys. He can speak fluent English, was holding on to some english books on his hands and looks pretty decent… oh well, PuiSee said to be cautious… but see how it goes ba…

Today has been a fruitful day and i forsee many crazy days ahead with Christmas approaching =)

dearest cindy

This title is no where exaggerated, it expressed every bit of all my feelings ever since you left Huelen 85. Please stop puking. Hold your seat tight. 🙂 If you get to read the following lines, you will understand.

After you leave, I need to do futuristic cooking and planning, cook once-off for 3-4 days and coach our dear princess Ms Tan what to cook in the shortest time.

So far these have been happening:-

1. I asked david to put the Greek dish which i have cooked back into the frige after a few hours of cooling. I literally woke up at 2 am, jerked up by the fact that he might not have done so. So I ran to the kitchen and had to put the food into the fridge myself.

2. I asked Eelee to buy “ajo” (galic), she bought “aji”(chili) back. I asked EL to buy the pan rellenado for frying, she said she didn´t see. 🙂

3. I asked EL to get either pork or chicken bones for the soup, she got back chunky beef bones, she said it was cheap. jialat, your spirit passed on.

This is the best one.

4. I asked Eelee to defrost fish for tomorrow meal. I felt worried after 20 mins. She was sound asleep. I walked to the kitchen. Guess what was defrosted?

The bag of chunky beef bones!! I think Eelee thought that they look like fish.

I find myself worrying about food and preparation of food with the passing of second.

You have immediately gotten a succesor within a split second. The jokes keep coming each day. 🙂

tk care and hugs,
ps

Cindy’s Farewell

Cindy has left for Singapore this morning and we had a farewell for her yesterday.

Here is a tribute to Cindy.

We played this clip in the farewell yesterday. The affirmation time was pretty touching for me especially when a few individuals shared about how their lives have been touched by her. This reminds me of the reason we are here. We are blessed to be a blessing =)

Our last picture at the airport…
