An email from Ps Ben…
Dear brothers & sisters,
Trust you are very well in the Lord.
In case you have not heard, here it is again – we are debt free!
This last week was just incredible. Monday, 30th April 2007 was the last day of our 21-month campaign. Campaign giving exceeded our target by $61K. Monday also marked 11 years for Dinah and I serving as your senior pastor. One date and two milestones!
Going back to 1st August 2005, two things happened. Firstly, Dinah and I were appointed to oversee Hope churches in North America – seven churches spread across a large and far away continent. Second, our breakthrough campaign started. The goal was to repay capital debt of $5.6M in a low-key, no-pressure, high-impact campaign whilst still paying $48K monthly installments, growing community ministry and growing the church locally and globally. It was a faith raising campaign. At the launch event, Dinah gave each of us a mustard seed. In faith, I declared that we will exceed the campaign target.
For the church, this has been a 21-month campaign. For the planning team, it has been a 28-month campaign. We want to thank Joel, Mark, Gloria, Kee, Lean Choo and Wan Leng for their labour of love. It was a joy serving with you.
We celebrated with thanksgiving services last Sunday. This was a tribute to God for His faithfulness through the years as well as a commitment to expand our ministry. God broke through. I was overwhelmed by your faithful and generous giving. It is amazing what God has accomplished through our church as we focused our hearts, our minds and our resources on the expansion of God’s kingdom through the local church.
As of yesterday we have exceeded the target by $82K. This surplus and subsequent pledge-fulfillment will be channeled to a reserve fund.
This victory belongs to God.

God’s church will continue to soar on eagles wings to reach the city and touch the nations. Once again, thank you for giving to the Lord.
